Turn off the Television & Social media

Turn off the Television & Social media. TV is nothing more than a brainwashing machine, a black magic mirror aka The Trick Box. It's telling you that women are always right and Men are always wrong, always to blame and incompetent, weak morons.

Ignore the media.

I built my great Machine Shop Gym business without any use of social media whatsoever.

People would ask me to join Facebook, Twitter & Instagram constantly and I would say no. I knew the truth well.

Social media takes away your focus and energy, your priorities become shifted, and in the end you sacrifice your work for some short-term likes. I never cared about likes and hearts, never needed someone's validation for what I was doing to give me confidence to keep moving forward.

Your real work - giving my clients the best service possible - is evergreen and will stick around for years, decades, and possibly more.

Your social media posts disappear by tomorrow.

So what kind of moron would join social media and let that happen?

I was and currently am one of those morons.

I listened to many other social media addicts and decided to join the social media circus.

Big mistake.

Since I've been back on I became more annoyed by the utter stupidity that most people share on these platforms.

More and more, social media is a nasty place to be and my attitude suffered severely. I started to become enraged by the fake "bravado" and nasty comments the nutters would make while hiding behind the keyboard.

I then realized that my sole reason for joining was to get more potential new clients to join my tribe. The reality was that I seldom got any new clients this way and that the best form of recruiting new clients was via my active clients referrals.

So what is the point? I don't have any family, I don't have kids and most of the crap that people share is either idiotic or posts of family adventures along with ads from meta trying to brainwash you.

So what am I getting out of it?

A few likes here and there.

My patience is starting to vanish into thin air.

I'm known to have the patience of a saint.

Likes, Hearts or retweets...could care less.

(All things that mean nothing to the bottom line of a business.)

The things that do matter in the business - writing great workouts - making my clients feel special every day.

I finally realized the truth one day and I deleted my social media accounts instantly with the exception of Facebook which is going soon too.

Many people were shocked and could not understand why I simply deleted my social media accounts with no word and never looked back.

For me living in reality is the way to go, scrolling fake reality does nothing but play tricks on your mind to the point you become enraged over crap you can't control.

I say step away and do a reboot on yourself.

You might realize you are much happier.

Nuff said,

-Machine out.
